Welcome to your Paediatric Basic Life Support course. We begin with a short introduction to the course before we look at some of the reasons people afraid to provide first aid in an emergency situation. You will learn how and when to activate the emergency services, and what to do while waiting for them to arrive, including carrying out an initial assessment, placing a casualty in the recovery position and the use of PPE.

In this section, you will learn the correct procedures to carry out Adult, Child, and Infant CPR and, about seizures, cardiac arrest, and drowning. This section includes tips on how to improve your compressions and breaths and performing CPR in the current climate with Coronavirus and Covid-19.

In this section, we cover choking in infants, children, older children, and adults. We look at how to recognise the signs of choking, and how to deal with and treat someone who is choking.

In Summary, we look at the use of oxygen in first aid and finally, how to complete the final test, print your certificate of completion, and access other course resources.
